How to Reset Ink Level for Cartridges HP 58, HP 56, HP 27, HP 21, HP 22, HP28 and HP 57

     If we have an HP printer, sometimes there is a problem with the cartridge can not be detected. And that usually we assume that the cartridge is damaged. 
To find out the cartridge still in use or not, we can be reset catridge. 
Printer cartridge HP 21 HP-27 HP-56 HP-58 HP-22-HP28 and HP 57, cartridge pins are all the same maps and use them for any HP printer. So they have the same way to reset. 


Here are the steps to reset the counter to it:

• Turn off your computer OFF and then remove the cartridge from the printer.   • Turn the printer off 
• Place a piece of tape over the top left contact as shown in BLUE in the  picture to the right. 
• Turn on the printer. The printer automatically prints a test page. (if the printer does not print a test page, but walking through the routines continue priming the following steps when the routine ends. 
• Remove the cartridge from the printer. 
• Place a piece of tape on the top right of the contact as shown in RED on the picture to the right. 
• Return the cartridge to the printer. The printer will go through a series of tests. That will be quite audible. 
• Remove the cartridge from the printer. 
• Place a piece of tape over the two contacts on the right side of the cartridge as shown in GREEN on the image to the right. 
• Return the cartridge to the printer. The printer will run additional tests and quite audible. (If you check your ink level at this point you will receive a "printer busy message") 

• Remove the cartridge from the printer and remove all the tape from the cartridge. 
• Replace the cartridge. (If you check your ink level at this point you will receive a "printer busy message") 
• Turn the printer off. Wait 20 seconds and turn the printer back. The ink levels now have full read.

If you're still not likely to be detected cartridge is damaged.
